ICS-120
Iridium Communications System delivers seamless global
communications services without the inconvenience of
hand-offs or no-service areas. The ICS-120 is an
inexpensive, full-service aeronautical communications
system incorporating a single channel Iridium
transceiver with ACARS DataLink services and an internal
GPS, all within a small 2-MCU LRU.
It is an inexpensive,
seamless global communications product ideal for any
size aircraft from general aviation to air transport and
air cargo. The ICS-120 single-channel and the dual
channel ICS-220 communication systems are certified for
cockpit communications using a telephone dialer adapter.
A derivative of the successful line of ICG Iridium
products, the ICS-120/ICS-220 includes a dedicated short
burst data (SBD) transceiver exclusively for ACARS
communications to provide unrestricted access for the
flight crew to air/ground Datalink services. The ICG
products are compliant with ARINC 741 protocol for
satellite-based ACARS messaging. The ICS-120/ICS-220 is
also compatible with most CMU/DMU models, connecting via
the ARINC 429 data bus, thereby eliminating the need for
any additional interface devices.
The ICS-120 and ICS-220 systems provide a full range of
cabin telecommunications unit (CTU) features, including
intercom calling, call transfer, conferencing and
follow-on dialing. Other enhanced features include
credit card calling, digital echo suppression, store and
forward fax service and secure voice operation.

STC for the ICS-120 Installations
For
owners and operators of B757-200/200PF/200CB/300 series
aircraft, L2 offers a FAA STC for installation of the
ICS-120. (see
ST10610SC at the FAA website) with a B737NG ICS-220A
FAA STC is in process. Our STC's are
further complemented by a well organized PMA approved
integration kit to allow for a more organized and more
efficient installation of this system.
