Extending your operational information network right
into the cockpit
The
Wingspeed XLLink Flight Information Architecture (XFIA)
is an airborne network platform that stays connected to
an airline’s ground network through a range of
sub-networks such as VHF, the Iridium Satellite Network,
WiFi, and Cellular. XFIA manages these sub-networks
automatically to establish the most cost effective means
of data transmission. XFIA is designed to host a broad
range of applications that range from global data link
and voice applications through sophisticated paperless
applications that synchronize ground based and airborne
data structures. The Wingspeed XLLink Flight
Information System enables any aircraft to be a node on
an information network, whether on the ground or in the
air.
The STC
approved configuration includes Triple Class 2B
Electronic Flight Bags (EFB), Wingspeed Network Server
Unit, Wingspeed Aircraft Communications Unit, Ritec
RTP80
Rugged Printer, Avionica miniQAR, and a cockpit Iridium
Telephone Handset. An STC amendment added options for
integrated Cockpit Audio and a Avionica secureLINK Terminal Wireless LAN Unit
(TWLU).
L2’s STC for the
Iridium Installations
For owners and operators of Boeing 747-200 series aircraft,
L2
offers an STC for installation of the Wingspeed XLLink
XFIA system
(see
ST10679SC on FAA website).
Our STC's are further complemented by a well organized
PMA approved integration kit to allow for a more
organized and more efficient installation of this
system.
L2
generated the
747-200 STC so that each major system has its own wiring
diagram and a separate subkit. For instance, the
secureLINK wiring diagram is a standalone drawing and
kit. To make the overall modification easier on
the installer, the cable routing is combined into one
drawing for all systems under the STC.
The secureLINK antenna P/N S65-5366-71S is installed at
STA 650 (left or right side); the secureLINK is
installed between 640 and 660. Subkit 2325-B25-407-01
includes the doubler, hardware, rivets, AvDEC gasket,
and placard to install the antenna. Of course, the STC
includes the DTA and SSR reports for the installation.
